Frequently Asked Questions NinjaTrader
Q. Do I need to buy credits to use the Static Superdom? A. You may need to if your broker does not cover this cost. The Static Superdom IP is owned by Trading Technologies. If you cannot use your Static Superdom after you have paid for your subscription to NinjaTrader and you have a live ‘real money’ account connection with your broker, you may need to buy Superdom credits or use the Dynamic Superdom. The cost for Static Superdom credits is US$0.10 per side for Futures contracts. To buy Static Superdom credits go to the ninjatrader website: Support centre>my account>enable static superdom>purchase TT transaction credits.
Q. What is the difference between the Static and Dynamic Superdom? A. The Dynamic Superdom Buy/Sell columns move as the price moves, so it can be difficult to click on the price you want whilst it is moving fast. You can ‘Hold’ the dynamic superdom momentarily whilst you click on the price you want by clicking on the ‘Hold’ button next to the Buy column on the superdom. The Static Superdom Buy/Sell columns don’t move, only the price moves, so it is easier to click on the price you want but the Static superdom may cost you US$0.10 per side, as the technology is owned by Trading Technologies.
Q. How do I change my Superdom account from Sim101 to my live account? A. Uncheck ‘Global Simulation Mode’ in the ControlCentre>File. Next click on the arrow in the Account filed and select your live account number.
Q. How do I stop the ‘Confirm Order Question’ appearing when I place a trade on the Superdom? A. Go to: control centre>tools>options. Un-tick ‘Confirm order placement’

You can now select this contract to trade on your charts and your superdom. Repeat this process for all the contracts you trade.
Trading Account Q. What clearing firm should I select when opening a trading account with Mirus Futures? A. RCG (Rosenthall Collins Group). This firm clears the London Stock Index, in addition to all other major indices and the currency futures. Note: Dorman does not clear the London Stock Index.
Q. How do I know which broker to open my live ‘real money’ trading account with? A. You should contact us at Beyond Traders for a personal coaching session to discuss your trading goals and preferred trading markets. In general, if you want to trade the London Stock Index and the Currency Futures using the NinjaTrader platform, Mirus Futures is a great broker. You must select RCG as the Clearing Firm. You must advise the broker whether you want to fund and hold your trading account with USD or AUD (or any other currency) as the brokers bank account details will differ. If you want to trade ALL markets from the one trading platform (Futures, Forex, CFDs and Shares), then Halifax is a great broker. You must use the HalifaxOnline platform. Note: Beyond Traders Proprietary Indicators are not coded for use with this platform. Please contact us, to learn how we can assist you to set up your HalifaxOnline charts with similar indicators (the Arrow and Sound Alarm will not be available).
Q. What is the minimum $ amount I need to open a live trading account? A. Most brokers require a minimum of the equivalent to US$5,000 however you can open your trading account with only US$2,500. You can trade one futures contract with US$2,500 (includes the margin and a buffer).
Q. How much money do I need in my trading account to trade five futures contracts? A. The equivalent to US$10,000. This includes US$1,000 margin per contract plus a US$1,000 buffer per contract.
Q. What support documents do I need to open my live trading account? A. This will vary, depending on the entity (individual, company, trust) that you open your trading account in. An individual account requires ‘proof of address’ (utility bill) and ‘passport’ or ‘drivers licence’. Once you complete the online trading account application, you will receive a list of the required support documents from your broker. These documents can be scanned and faxed to your broker.
Q. Is there a cost to withdraw funds from your trading account? A. Generally yes. Mirus Futures charge US$30 per withdrawal.
Indicators Q. Can I use the Beyond Traders Proprietary Indicators with other trading platforms, other than NinjaTrader? A. No. Beyond Traders indicators are only coded for use with NinjaTrader. Note: If you want to trade with the HalifaxOnline platform, we can assist you to setup your charts with a set of non-coded indicators, however, the Arrow and Sound Alarm will not work.]
Practice Trading Q. How can I continue to practice trading Currency Futures after my Free 30 day trial with Mirus Futures has expired? A. You can fund your ‘real money’ trading account but you will then need to start paying for NinjaTrader, or you can practice trading Currency ‘Forex’ using the Gain Capital Free Demo Account, for as long as you want to. Note: Currency Forex factors in a spread payable to the broker, so your normal trading goal will need to be increased by at least 3 ticks, to factor in the cost of your trade. If you intend to trade Currency Futures when you ‘go live with your real money’, then remember, when trading in Sim with your Demo Forex account, 5 ticks profit in Forex is similar to approximately 8 ticks profit in the Futures. You should also note that the volume is generally lower during the day (Sydney NSW Time) than with Futures, so when practicing in Demo, it is best not to consider volume, if you intend to trade live with Futures contracts.
Q. Can I continue to use the practice (Sim101) account whenever I want to when I have a ‘real money’ account? A. Yes. Once you open a live trading account, you can switch your NinjaTrader SuperDom from ‘Live’ to ‘Sim’ at any time.
Futures Trading Q. How do I know when to start trading with a new quarterly contract for Futures? A. Futures contracts expire every 3 months. 03/06/09/12. Currency futures will expire on the 2nd Friday of the expiration quarter. Stock Index Futures will expire on the 3rd Thursday of the expiration quarter. The new contract will start to trade approximately 1 week before the current one expires. You know when to start trading on the New contract when the volume in the new contract exceeds the volume in the current contract.
Q. Where should I place my ‘worst case scenario’ stop loss? A. This depends on the time frame (or tick) chart you are trading with but in general a reversal of the Go3 Indicator and/or a close above/below the Yellow Trend Line in the opposite direct to your trade are good signs of a possible price reversal. |
