Opening a Trading Account with a Broker

Establishing the correct online trading account, for your trading goals, is a very important step.  You will need to select a broker which can provide you with:

- Access to all the markets you want to trade

- Reliable datafeed to the markets you want to trade (historial datafeed is preferred)

- Charts and the trading platform you would prefer to use

- Funding your account in the currency of your choice (avoids currency value fluctuations)

- Customer support

- Techinical support

 

Brokers

Our prefered broker is Halifax Investment Services Ltd (Halifax).

 

Halifax Investment Services:  Located in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, Australia.  Please note, you cannot trade the Australian SPI200 futures contract with the NinjaTrader platform.

You can open your live trading account with Halifax Investment Services using their FREE HalifaxOnline Platform and have the opportunity to trade any market of your choice with historical datafeed.  Whether you want to trade Futures, CFDs, Australian Stocks, or the Forex, an all-in-one trading account with Halifax, using the halifaxonline platform provides you with reliable charts and a simple trade management platform.   A monthly datafeed fee is payable for access to some exchanges.  The HalifaxOnline Platform is free.  The brokerage fees per trade are very competitive and have been discounted for BT Members.

Prefer to trade with the NinjaTrader Platform?  You can trade Futures or the Forex with this platform and download a personal set of Coded Indicators, which display the proprietary Arrows for long and short trade opportunties, in conjunction with our Green Go Lines.  

 

Mirus Futures:  Located in Chicago, USA. 

This broker provides the NinjaTrader Platform for futures (not available for the SPI200 futures contract).  You can open a trading account in AUD or USD. You can download a personal set of coded BT Indicators, which display the proprietary BT Arrows with this broker, using the NinjaTrader platform.  No datafeed fees are payable (this fee is included in the brokerage cost).  The brokerage fees per trade are very competitive and have been discounted for BT Members.

 

Trading Platforms and Charts

HalifaxOnline.  A simple All-In-One Chart and Trade Management Platform, providing you with the opportunity to trade any market (Futures, CFDs, Australian Shares, Forex) from the one platform.  This platform is free when you open your trading account with Halifax Invesment Services.

NinjaTrader. A comprehensive Chart and Trade Management Platform, providing you with the opportunity to set Automatic Trade Management Strategies to automatically manage profit targets and stops.  You can trade Futures, Forex and some stocks with this platform, if your stockbroker has connectivity to the required datafeeds.  This platform is free to use in Practice (Sim) Mode, until you have opened a live trading account with your selected broker, then NinjaTrader charge you a fee of between US$50 to US$60 per month, depending on the rental plan you select.  There is also a life-time purchase option for this platform.  This platform is available through Halifax and Mirus, although not all markets and contracts are supported, so please ensure you discuss your trading needs with us at BT prior to selecting a broker and trading platform.
